Who is TCEL

  • TCEL is a nonprofit environmental group promoting ecological living in the Greater Toronto Chinese Community (Cantonese/Mandarin speaking)
  • The acronym of our name, TCEL, is pronounced “T-Cell”. T-Cells are some of the most important white blood cells in the human immune system. It protects people from infections and coordinates the activities of other cells in the immune system. Just as the human T-Cell protects human health, TCEL mission is to coordinate community effort to maintain a healthy environment
  • Our services include public education through media outreach, workshops, information booth, website, and various special events

TCEL

  • will serve as a conduit between the Government, main stream environmental groups and the Chinese Community
  • believes a balance ecological living should be environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable
  • believes it is not the work of a committed few but the lifestyle change of the mass that will make the difference in protecting and restoring our natural environment

Our Mission

  • To assist Chinese Canadian to get involved in finding solutions to today’s environmental challenges
  • To help common people, people who have competing priorities in their life, to get involve in environmental protection

Source of Funding

TCEL is funded by a combination of government and private foundation grants as well as individuals and corporate donations
